Lighting Designer
About the role
This position is for individuals with 1-4 years of experience in lighting design. As a Lighting Designer you will be supporting the design team and projects in all aspects and phases.
Responsibilities
- Create specifications for medium and complex projects.
- Perform lighting calculations, analysis, and rendering studies; use results to inform decisions.
- Document lighting layouts in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Aid in lighting mock-ups and design presentations.
- Support design presentations and construction documentation for architectural lighting projects.
- Take responsibility for lighting calculations and building certification compliance credits.
- Provide technical assistance on design, installation, and integration issues for innovative lighting solutions.
- Review submittals and respond to contractor inquiries during construction.
- Produce meeting reports and punch lists.
- Occasionally support marketing efforts.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Expertise in design software: Agi32, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, InDesign, Bluebeam.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-4 years’ experience in architectural lighting design.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Lighting Design, or a related discipline.
- Certifications: Working knowledge of energy codes. Lighting Certified (LC) through NCQLP. (preferred)
- Professional society involvement and/or industry leadership. (preferred)
