Osbee Industries, Inc. · Harrison, NY · 1 wk ago
HybridManagement$80k–$120k/yrFull-time

About the role

You'll design, specify, coordinate, test, and manage the logistics of lighting fixtures for our clients. Our typical client may not need or want a major architectural lighting design firm, but still wants a thoughtful, coordinated lighting plan that goes well beyond a basic reflected ceiling plan and integrates seamlessly with the technology Osbee is known for. This role works alongside our Project Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Review external fixture specifications and architectural plans to capture the electrical and physical details required to integrate lighting into the Osbee system and documentation
  • Create key project documents including load schedules, linear schedules, control schedules, and specification packages
  • Produce CAD documents such as reflected ceiling plans, lighting layouts, elevations, wiring plans, and wiring diagrams, combined with other Osbee disciplines such as audio and video hardware where needed
  • Help expand and refine Osbee's process for delivering this growing scope of work
  • Review new products and materials to stay current with the technology, and create and review mockups as projects require
  • Assist with procurement by requesting quotes, reviewing samples, and managing the logistics of lighting materials Osbee provides
  • Participate in project validation and closeout at commissioning
  • Focus fixtures and program lighting systems on site, working alongside the Project Programmer and any external lighting design firms

Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience in a similar role, with high-end residential lighting design and a strong understanding of industry documentation standards and technology
  • Electrical and electronics comprehension
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
  • Deep knowledge of Lutron, Crestron, Savant, or similar home control systems is desired but not required
  • Enthusiasm for technology and the evolving complexity of integration, and an interest in pushing the boundaries of what it can do
  • A design-oriented but practical approach, with the resourcefulness and curiosity to solve problems as they arise
  • Degree in lighting design, architecture, interior design, or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience; lighting certification such as the LC is a plus
  • Ability to work on ladders at heights on project sites
  • A valid U.S. driver's license

Benefits

  • Health insurance, with optional dental and vision
  • Life insurance and employee assistance program
  • Flexible spending account
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • 16 days PTO plus 10 paid holidays
  • Company-sponsored certification training and professional development
  • Company vehicle, laptop, and cellphone provided
  • Employee discount

Pay

$80,000–$120,000/year, full-time salaried

Schedule

Full-time, in person, Monday–Friday, based out of our headquarters and showroom in Harrison, NY — easily reached via I-95 and the Hutchinson River Parkway, and near the Harrison Metro-North station. Project work takes place throughout the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT).
