About the role
You are a relationship-driven business development professional with an entrepreneurial mindset. Someone who wants to help build a business within a business, not just sell a product. You combine lighting knowledge with genuine relationship-building ability and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Build and grow relationships with architects, designers, builders, and trade partners—creating new lighting opportunities and positioning Automated Lifestyles as a trusted lighting resource
- Help grow the Lighting Division’s go-to-market strategy through Lunch & Learns, outreach, marketing initiatives, and showroom concepts
- Serve as the primary client-facing lighting specialist—fixture selection, control, shades & fabric selection
- Develop manufacturer and vendor relationships
- Collaborate internally with sales, engineering, and project management
Requirements
- Track record of building and maintaining long-term professional relationships, ideally with architects, designers, builders, or trade partners
- Steady work history (3 years between hops)
- Strong communication skills, high EQ, and a pleasant disposition
Ideal Knowledge / Experience
- Background in lighting, architectural design, or a related trade industry preferred
- Strong relationship-building and business development skills—this is a relationship-driven role, not high-pressure or cold-call sales
- Comfort operating with an entrepreneurial, growth-building mindset

Schedule
- Full time: 40 hours per week
- 4×10 schedule (three-day weekend)
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00 am–5:00 pm
- Occasional appointments to accommodate clients on Friday/evening/weekend
Pay
$80,000–$85,000/year based on experience
