Light Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Diesel Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles. Duties include running diagnostic tests, test driving vehicles to gauge performance, and maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles. This position is located in Warneed, MN. Relocation assistance is available through Marvin’s benefit offerings.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults
• Analyze diagnostic test results
• Repair or replace parts, including heating and cooling systems, air brakes, and electrical system components
• Service vehicles, including lube changes, filters, and tires
• Check vehicle lighting systems
• Test drive vehicles to gauge performance
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist
• Maintain a parts inventory
• Ensure the cleanliness of the shop and your work area

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (a plus)
• ASE Diesel Certification (advantageous)
• Valid driver’s license; CDL or ability to obtain one
• Aptitude for mathematics and science
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
• Good IT and diagnostic skills
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
• Attention to detail
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills

Schedule

Evenings: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am, with overtime on Friday as required.

Pay

$24.00 – $32.00 per hour
