Light Board Operator

About the role

Got Light is seeking light board operators for special events, corporate events, general sessions, product launches, and more. This is an on-call position as an independent contractor.

Desired Skills

- Proficient on the grandMA3. - Basic knowledge of electricity, power distribution, and lighting equipment. - Installation and operation of uplighting, theatrical fixtures, LED lights, dimming/control. - Able to work efficiently and under pressure. - Comfortable making changes on the fly.

Experience

- Working with clients and lighting designers. - Busking and Cueing. - Programming of static/ambient lighting as well as concert/performance lighting. - DMX over Ethernet (ART-NET, sACN) networking. - Basic knowledge of circuit loads.

Schedule & Availability

On-call / event based work. Nights/Late Hours/Weekends. Independent Contractor position.

IC Requirements

- Business License (EIN) required. - Carry $1M in liability insurance.

Qualifications | Physical Demands

- General knowledge of event production or technical theater. - Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Ability to work quickly under pressure, and manage chaos with ease. - Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head. - Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. - Comfortable working on ladders. - Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
