About the Role

Operate propane-powered sit-down forklifts to transport and move materials safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate propane sit-down forklifts to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
• Load, unload, transport, and stack material including pallets, skids, boxes, and paper roll stock.
• Secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Unload and load raw materials from flatbed and van trailers.
• Complete daily forklift Condition Report.
• Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, conveyors, or lifting devices.
• Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data as required.
• Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
• Record quality and output measures and complete any other necessary paperwork.
• Attend job-related training as required by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior forklift experience required; sit-down propane forklift experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with others.
• Ability to operate Warehouse Management Systems via stationary and onboard computers.
• Demonstrated skills in time management and attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and stairs are required.

Working Conditions

• Work with machinery in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and additional department-specific variables.
• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
• May include working 12-hour shifts, including holidays.
