Responsibilities

• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and identify, recommend, and implement safety improvements.
• Operate lifting devices such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
• Complete the daily Forklift Inspection Checklist prior to utilizing equipment.
• Operate propane- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
• Move pallets, skids, boxes, and paper roll stock, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Feed materials into hoppers using dumping, spraying, or controlled release methods.
• Unload and load raw materials from flatbed and van trailers.
• Inform line operators of materials staged on the floor and in the production line.
• Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, conveyors, or lifting devices.
• Measure and record the weight of materials or finished goods, ensuring all required production data is documented accurately.
• Communicate with the incoming shift regarding remaining materials for the current order, their locations, and where the next order is staged.
• Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
• Record quality and output measures and complete any other necessary paperwork.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior forklift experience required; sit-down propane forklift experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a production or manufacturing work environment preferred.

Skills

• Ability to operate Warehouse Management Systems via stationary and onboard computers.
• Demonstrated skills in time management and attention to detail.
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and related support areas.

Working Conditions

This position requires working with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, including hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection. Other conditions may include working 12-hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and stairs are required.
