About the Role

The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for storing received product within the racks, utilizing and maximizing available space, while scanning the product to enable inventory tracking. Operators attend an extensive training course, including video instruction, material review, and a knowledge test. After passing the written portion, on-the-job training is provided, culminating in a "Certified Driver" certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Daily Lift Truck Operators Inspection Log to maintain proper care and maintenance.
  • Ensure safety harness and tether are in proper working condition.
  • Push, pull, or lift product into available rack locations.
  • Scan product to and from locations within the racks for inventory tracking.
  • Pull product for shipment or special inspection.
  • Perform cycle scans for inventory verification.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Move furniture using hand trucks, carts, or dollies.
  • Open and inspect product for carton condition.
  • Stage product for shipment and place furniture into rows.
  • Scan barcodes using Dolphin scan guns.
  • Dispose of trash and cardboard into baler/compactor.
  • Wrap furniture and load/unload product on carts for lift trucks.
  • Arrive punctually and consistently for scheduled shifts.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing related duties as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and work area.

Working Conditions

This is an onsite position operating in a professional warehouse environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment (scanners, computers, photocopiers, smartphones) as well as warehouse tools (dolly, hand trucks, baler, lift truck).

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Operators must be capable of working at heights exceeding 30 feet and pushing, pulling, or lifting heavy/large objects for extended periods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to become Lift Truck certified.
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 30 feet.
