Lifestyle Coordinator - Fulltime: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 9:15am - 5:15pm and Friday 12pm-8pm.

About the role

The Bristal Assisted Living seeks a creative, compassionate, and hands-on Lifestyle Coordinator to assist in planning and coordinating recreational programs for residents, including those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia in our Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in adjusting to a new concept of living
• Encourage residents to pursue and develop new interests
• Plan fun and safe trips to various destinations
• Prepare, print, and distribute copies of the monthly calendar, newsletters, and memos
• Perform planned activities in the absence of the Director of Recreation
• Maintain a knowledge of resident backgrounds, hobbies, special interests, and spoken languages

Requirements

• One year's prior experience working with a senior population, and those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia (a plus)
• At least 6 months of recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience, and preferably in assisted living, long-term care or a similar industry setting
• Outgoing, warm, and genuine caring personality
• Able to create programs that engage and excite residents
• Dependable and able to supervise activities, special events, and safe excursions for the residents
• Has creative talents in one or more areas, such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.
• Maintains oneself well-groomed and properly attired
• Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and presents a positive spirit and professional attitude
• Possesses a proven ability to lead classes and other instructional learning sessions and speak in front of a group setting with ease, confidence, and clarity

• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent at a minimum
