Lifestyle Coordinator

About the role

The Bristal Assisted Living seeks a creative, compassionate, and hands-on Lifestyle Coordinator to assist in planning and executing recreational programs for residents, particularly those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia in our Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in adjusting to a new concept of living
• Encourage residents to pursue and develop new interests
• Plan and organize fun and safe trips to various destinations
• Create and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and memos to residents
• Supervise activities, special events, and safe excursions for residents
• Maintain knowledge of resident backgrounds, hobbies, and interests
• Lead classes and instructional learning sessions with ease and confidence

Requirements

• One year’s prior experience working with seniors, and those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia (a plus)
• At least 6 months of recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience (preferably in assisted living, long-term care or a similar industry setting)
• A genuine caring personality and outgoing, warm demeanor
• Ability to create engaging programs and maintain a positive spirit
• Dependability and strong supervisory skills
• Proven ability to lead classes and speak confidently in front of groups
• A high school diploma or equivalent
