Lifespan Outpatient Clinician

Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Bristol, CT offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus (half at start, half after one year of service) and eligibility for up to $250,000 in loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC).

Pay

• $60,000.00 for Associate Licensure (LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA)
• $73,500.00 for Full Licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

Salary may be adjusted based on experience.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or a related license-eligible field, or a doctoral degree in Psychology
• Must be licensed or license-eligible as LPCA, LMFTA, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist
• If you are an MSW, a LMSW (permit or license) or LCSW will be required to begin employment

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the behavioral, primary, and dental health needs of clients, including:
  • Providing behavioral health consultation to primary care providers
  • Assisting clients in meeting medical treatment compliance
  • Referring clients to other Wheeler services or community resources as needed
• Conduct program-specific screening and evaluation, and formulate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).
• Develop and document clear, individualized, and measurable clinical formulations and treatment plans in collaboration with the client/family, incorporating behavioral health, primary care, and dental goals as indicated.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychopathology and primary psychotherapy modalities, including individual, group, and family therapy.
• Correctly triage clinical emergencies, including suicide risk and danger to others.
• Use best practices and evidence-based psychotherapy models where appropriate.
• Facilitate topic-oriented, focused, time-limited group therapy and provide or refer to group therapy when required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychotropic medications.
• Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.
• Facilitate group therapy (outpatient or intensive outpatient) and see patients across the lifespan as necessary.
• Demonstrate knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes, and resources, and make clinically appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and internal/external providers.
• Attend required meetings and multidisciplinary treatment team planning sessions.
• Meet direct service productivity goals as defined by the program.
• Adhere to program/department/agency goals, target outcomes, practice standards, and data collection/reporting protocols.
• Document all client-related information in compliance with agency policy.
• Attend and prepare for scheduled supervision, seek additional supervision or consultation as needed, and follow through with supervisory directives.
• Collaborate with community providers to promote Wheeler Clinic’s reputation as a quality service provider.
• Provide culturally competent care, respecting clients' cultural traditions, values, and beliefs.
• Report child abuse/neglect as mandated and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
• Ensure the program meets all necessary licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Continue developing knowledge and understanding of the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served, using culturally appropriate approaches.
