Lifeguard - Swim Lesson Instructor (SLI) - Seasonal

About the role

Lifeguard SLI positions are available for the Summer Season from April 2026 through August 2026. Positions may work 25 - 40 hours per week, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in and knowledgeable of the practices of instructing all age groups in swimming and diving skills.
• Plan, lead, and execute learning activities for class groups.
• Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas.
• Administer first aid.
• Complete reports associated with accidents, incidents, and lessons.
• General cleaning duties.
• Sweep pool decking.
• Remove debris from the pool and adjoining areas.
• Give general information on pool hours and general operation to pool patrons.

Requirements

• Valid Lifeguard Certification, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer Certification, and Swim Lesson Instructor (SLI) or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent certification by hire date.
• Substance Abuse Testing due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this classification.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Some (3 - 6 months) experience in performing the duties of a lifeguard and instructing swimming classes is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish desirable.
