Lifeguard-Swim Assistant
Job Summary
Serve as lifeguard and swim assistant as needed for Community Education swim programs. During open and lap swims, supervise and assist swimmers as needed including working in water as needed. During swim classes, assist head instructor in conducting lessons, including working in water with swimmers. Maintain safe pool deck and enforce safe swimming rules. Operate handicap chair and lift as needed. Respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid.
Qualifications
- Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, First aid, and AED
- Ability to work effectively with swimmers, parents, instructors, and other swim staff members
- Ability to handle handicap chair, lift and rescue equipment
- Experience as lifeguard or swim assistant preferred but not required
Pay & Schedule
- $12.50/hour – more dependent on experience
- Add'l $1.00/hr with WSI
- Hours vary
