Lifeguard (Part-Time)

About the role

The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center in Brookline is hiring part-time Certified Lifeguards.

Requirements

• Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (or equivalent)
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent)
• Minimum age of 16 years at time of hire
• Able to complete the following physical tests:
  • 300-yard continuous swim with rhythmic breathing
  • Timed event under 1 minute & 40 seconds:
    • Swim 20 yards
    • Surface dive (feet or head first) to retrieve a 10 lb brick
    • Swim 20 yards on back holding the 10 lb brick over the chest
    • Place brick on the side of the pool
    • Climb out of the pool without the use of a ladder or stairs
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs (no arms/hands)

Benefits

The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center will provide a FREE American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification course for qualified candidates, provided you work a minimum of 6 hours per week for at least 6 months after completing the course.

Pay

Starting pay is $20.00 hourly.

Schedule

Several shifts available: early mornings, daytime/afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
