Lifeguard (part-time)

About the role

HealthFitness is looking for part-time Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at their client site in West Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert, and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.

Qualifications

• Pass a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim, Active, Passive, Submerged rescues, Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water, and other various techniques learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Pay

$16.94 - $17.50 per hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

• Up to 20 hours.
• Weekends either 7:45 am - 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm - 4:15 pm.
