About the Role

The lifeguard position ensures the safety of swimmers and participants by monitoring water activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing emergency assistance when necessary. Lifeguards educate patrons on pool policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment. Strong communication skills, physical fitness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water activities to ensure swimmer safety.
• Enforce pool safety rules and procedures.
• Provide emergency assistance as needed.
• Educate patrons on pool policies and safety guidelines.
• Work less traditional shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• Current American Red Cross Waterfront Certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.

Physical Effort

• Frequent: Hand movement (grasping, holding), reading, hearing, talking, standing, walking.
• Occasional: Writing, eye-hand coordination, lifting 30-60 lbs., pushing/pulling, climbing stairs, bending, squatting, reaching.
• Rare: Crawling.

Work Environment

• Inside and outside work environments.

Recruitment range: $15/hour. This is a temporary, non-exempt, hourly position.
