Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
- Must complete PRT preseason training
- A Water Test must be passed to qualify
- Must have current CPR training at the time they begin lifeguarding duties
Performance Responsibilities
- Enforces the rules and regulations for the pool operation and for the conduct of bathers as set by the Recreation Department
- Teaches and assists teaching PRT swimming classes
- Maintains a constant vigil over patrons in assigned areas and performs rescue for persons in distress
- Renders first aid and CPR when necessary
- Performs pool maintenance as needed

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
