Pool/Member Safety
- Enforce RJKCCC rules to ensure a safe environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Cautiously warn swimmers about unsafe areas and actions.
- Maintain order in swimming areas.
- Analyze and act quickly to address potential dangers.
- Provide first aid, rescue breathing CPR, and AED when necessary.
- Contribute to the safety of self, co-workers, and the public.
- Assist with any aspect of aquatic programs.
Pool/Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness of swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, trash cans, cleaning equipment, aquatic equipment storage areas, and other areas as assigned.
- Under supervision, set up and breakdown facility equipment as needed.
- Under supervision, help setup and breakdown Wim Meet Timing System.
- Test or provide information for all required pool documents on a daily basis.
Miscellaneous
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers in person and over the phone.
- Wear standard apparel as prescribed by the Aquatics Manager and maintain a professional appearance.
- Attend required staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Adhere to all Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other assignments/duties as directed.
- Ensure the representation and infusion of The Salvation Army's mission in all programs, trainings, customer relations, and operations.
At least 15 years of age.
Required: Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification within first 6 months of employment).
Desired: American Red Cross Lifeguard or Shallow Water Certification.
Ability and willingness to verbally communicate with a diverse audience of members.
