About the role

Lifeguard job at EF Education First. Tarrytown, NY. Location: Tarrytown, New York. Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal (May 2026-August 2026 with flexible start and end dates)

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students during open swim hours and enforce pool safety rules at all times.
• Maintain water quality and report any maintenance issues or hazards.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid or CPR as needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with students of various English proficiency levels.
• Help maintain cleanliness and order in the pool area.
• Support student engagement and contribute to a positive campus atmosphere.

Requirements

• Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse student populations.
• Must hold a valid U.S. passport or work permit (EF does not provide sponsorship).
• Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Compensation

Compensation range for this role is $17.00/hr, based on experience. This role is eligible for overtime for any hours over 40-hours per week with manager approval.
