About the role
Create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment while providing quality services for participants of all ages. This is a year-round program with sessions beginning in September, January, and March.
Location: Wayzata East Middle School Pool
Schedule
Flexible shifts and schedule with weekday morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Work one day a week or multiple days.
Training
Mandatory staff training is held monthly. Pre-season training is provided prior to program start dates.
Responsibilities
- Supervise pool activities and participants to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience.
- Maintain continuous and effective surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas to identify and respond to potential safety concerns.
- Enforce pool rules, safety policies, and procedures consistently and appropriately.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, injuries, and other incidents in accordance with established procedures and lifeguard training.
- Provide assistance and support to participants of all ages while promoting an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Work collaboratively with other lifeguards and aquatic staff to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized pool environment.
- Follow all staff policies, procedures, and aquatic safety standards.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old by program start date.
- Current Lifeguard certification, or ability to obtain.
- Strong communication skills.
- Dependability and a friendly, personable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
