Essential Functions
- Supervises swimming activities at the facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Presents a professional appearance and positive attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
- Supervises and maintains the safe use of swimming, boating, and beach areas.
- Aids, performs, and directs necessary water rescue maneuvers and first aid.
- Performs beach, bathhouse, comfort station, and picnic shelter maintenance.
- Collections fees.
- Affords assistance at other lakes/beaches as needed.
Competency
- Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work most or up to the entire season.
- Ability to swim long/short distances rapidly.
Required Education And Experience
- Must possess a valid Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certificate, Red Cross First Aid, and CPR.
Physical And Mental Requirements
- This position requires exposure to the sun for extended periods.
- Frequent walking/standing.
- Strenuous physical tasks to perform rescues, such as running over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, or stooping, swimming and diving underwater for extended periods, lifting or carrying people weighing 100 pounds.
- Being exposed to potentially life-threatening situations on a recurring basis.
- Daily contact with general public to provide information and enforces safety rules and perform rescues.
Remote Work
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Salary
- $16.50 for new lifeguards
- $17.00 for returning second year lifeguard
- $17.50 for returning third or more years lifeguard.
Sign-On Incentive
- You will receive a $250.00 sign-on incentive if you are onboarded and work at least one (1) day by June 5 th . This will be paid on the following paycheck after June 5 th .
- You will receive another $250.00 if you work an average of 30 hours a week for 5 out of 9 open swim season weeks. This will be paid on the following paycheck after Labor Day.
