Lifeguard

Phillips Academy is looking for Lifeguards to support our Athletic and Community Recreation Aquatic programs. Multiple part-time positions available.

Schedule

• Flexible hours including Monday – Friday afternoons 3:30PM – 8:00PM
• Varying weekend shifts when school is in session
• Extended weekday and weekend hours during the summer

Certification and Licensing Requirements

• Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate, or equivalent nationally recognized certification
• American Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED Certification for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent nationally recognized certification

Qualifications and Skills

• 16+ years of age with lifeguarding experience preferred
• Swimming proficiency
• Ability to adjust programs as necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and other staff
• Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety
• Knowledge of on-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies with the ability to enforce safety objectives firmly but politely
• Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services

Pay

Salary Range: $19 - $21 per hour

Any offers of employment will be contingent upon successful CORI/SORI and fingerprinting background checks as well as unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
