Requirements
- Be identifiable with YMCA Lifeguard shirt, whistle, swimsuit and rescue tube.
- Actively apply and enforce all pool rules.
- Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines.
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area.
- Minimize distractions.
- Knows/reviews all emergency procedures.
- Perform equipment checks.
- Clean pool area, including potentially fecal matter or vomit.
Qualifications
- Current Lifeguard certification.
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- AED certification.
- Basic First Aid certification.
- Oxygen Administration certification (preferred).
- Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
