About the Program

Rockwell Automation's Leadership Development Program is an onboarding program designed to provide associates with the training and experience needed to begin developing their technical and professional leadership skills within Rockwell Automation's Lifecycle Services Business Unit.

As an associate on the Managed Support Services team, you will:

  • Gain experience in technical and leadership competencies through classroom training, mentoring, career planning, and networking.
  • Have a high level of interaction with Rockwell Automation's leaders.
  • Be exposed to industrial automation technology that supports The Connected Enterprise, including software for automation, programmable automation controllers, intelligent motor control, machine safety, process control, industrial security, cloud computing, industrial Ethernet, motion control, industrial components, and variable-frequency drives.
  • Experience Rockwell Automation products across a variety of industries.

Rotational Program Overview

  • Engineer in Training Program: 5 months in Mayfield Heights, OH.
  • MSS Rotations: 1 – 1.5 years in Mayfield Heights, OH, with potential rotations in:
    • Remote Support Services
    • Application Support Management
    • Managed Services
    • Digital, Professional Services

Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance via phone, email, and remote access for Rockwell Automation products and technologies to field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers.
  • Identify and correct failures, firmware problems, and programming deficiencies, and implement hardware/firmware updates and upgrades.
  • Instruct and train customers on the proper use, operation, and maintenance of Rockwell Automation products.
  • Respond to customer needs, ensuring swift and quality responses while maintaining communication with the team and customer.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical assistance for sales presentations to customers.
  • Consult on the application of products, technologies, manufacturing processes, and industry-specific applications.
  • Build collaborative relationships and embrace Rockwell Automation’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship now or in the future).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to relocate every six months depending on opportunities and rotations.
  • Graduated in the past three years with a technically focused degree.
  • Prior interaction with Rockwell Automation (e.g., through events or internships).
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.2+ on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrated experience approaching challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience collaborating with and leading peers and managers to achieve project goals, including presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • A creative mindset that allows you to problem-solve effectively and embrace new challenges.
