About the role

The Water Tech Analytical Instruments product line has an opportunity for a Sales Account Manager for the Southwest territory (Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico). The person in this role will develop strong partnerships with life sciences customers to expand the install base, generate new sales opportunities, and facilitate the success of end users. You will travel to regional client sites, present industry-leading solutions, utilize commercial expertise to expand networks at regional conferences, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer accounts. Products include total organic carbon (TOC), conductivity, endotoxin, and rapid bioburden.

Key characteristics for this role: self-motivated, organized, customer-focused, with excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills, and driven to succeed in a high-paced commercial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
  • Develop positive relationships with clients
  • Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions
  • Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
  • Monitor sales metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Attend company-sponsored trade shows within the territory and identify local or regional conferences to create sales opportunities
  • Maintain a basic technical understanding of competitors’ products and sales distribution
  • Perform equipment demonstrations independently to support instrumentation sales and maintain demo instruments
  • Travel within the territory to customer sites to develop and maintain business, perform equipment demos, and assist in the sale of aftermarket products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Life Sciences discipline
  • At least 5 years of capital equipment sales work experience or equivalent
  • Experience working or selling capital equipment in a GMP life sciences environment

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with analytical instruments, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-focused skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the industrial applications for product lines and markets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Preferred: QC analytical testing experience (e.g., endotoxin and microbiology) in a life sciences laboratory
