About the role
This is a business leadership role within Accenture's Life Sciences MedTech practice, focused on R&D transformation. You will own a defined segment of our MedTech R&D growth agenda, setting strategy, building the team, originating and closing major client engagements, and being accountable for the P&L. The role requires AI fluency as a central component of leadership and client solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own a defined segment of Accenture's MedTech R&D practice, including revenue targets, headcount, and margin.
- Develop and execute market strategy: identify target clients, differentiate Accenture’s offerings, and prioritize growth opportunities.
- Personally source and close transformational engagements with C-suite and VP-level R&D leaders at top MedTech OEMs and digital health companies.
- Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions to accelerate product development, improve clinical operations, and build data-driven R&D organizations.
- Build and maintain executive-level client relationships to position Accenture as a long-term strategic partner for R&D transformation.
- Establish thought leadership and market positioning through publications, keynotes, and industry presence.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to scale the MedTech R&D practice.
Travel up to 75% to client locations may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in or advising the MedTech R&D industry, with deep expertise in the product development and regulatory lifecycle. Specialization in at least one area: cardiovascular, neuromodulation, surgical robotics, diagnostics, digital health, or adjacent fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in management consulting or with a MedTech firm, with a demonstrated track record in business development, client origination, and practice leadership.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience owning or leading an organization (e.g., consulting practice, business unit, or commercial function) with accountability for people, revenue, and strategy.
- A Bachelor’s degree (science, engineering, or health-related field preferred); advanced degree is a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to independently originate and close large, complex engagements with senior buyers at MedTech OEMs.
- Hands-on experience leading or selling AI-enabled R&D transformation, including design and implementation.
- Established senior network of C-suite and VP-level R&D, innovation, and commercial leaders at MedTech OEMs who view you as a trusted strategic advisor.
- Experience building and scaling a consulting practice or business development organization.
- Visible market presence through publications, keynote appearances, board or advisory roles, or a strong professional reputation in MedTech R&D.
- Disciplined approach to pipeline management at scale, with portfolio-level thinking about team investments.
- Experience operating at the intersection of R&D, commercial, and technology strategy to connect Accenture’s capabilities to a client’s enterprise agenda.

Pay
Compensation varies by location, role, skill set, and experience. The following ranges reflect the annual salary for this role in select U.S. locations:
- California: $163,000 to $434,000
- Cleveland: $150,900 to $347,200
- Colorado: $163,000 to $375,000
- District of Columbia: $173,500 to $399,300
- Illinois: $150,900 to $375,000
- Maine: $138,800 to $319,400
- Maryland: $163,000 to $375,000
- Massachusetts: $163,000 to $399,300
- Minnesota: $163,000 to $375,000
- New York: $150,900 to $434,000
- New Jersey: $173,500 to $434,000
