About the role
Stantec seeks an Owner’s Representative, at the Project Manager level, to manage projects on behalf of owners in the biopharmaceutical/life sciences sector. This role involves managing projects valued over $10M, typically including renovations, maintenance, and new builds. Projects range from conceptual planning through design and construction, and often involve regular travel to client sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of projects valued over $10M, including renovations, maintenance, and new builds.
- Collect project-specific site information to effectively organize available resources.
- Develop strategic conceptual programs consistent with proposed schedules and budgets in collaboration with clients.
- Competitively assemble the project team by preparing and administering Requests for Proposals (RFPs), making recommendations for award, and negotiating contracts as required by the client.
- Provide day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team, collaborating with clients' goals, constraints, and priorities.
- Review the design for adherence to client's schedule, budget, logistics, and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
- Manage the project team on behalf of the client during the design, construction, occupancy, and closeout process.
- Administer all contracts and invoices on behalf of the client.
- Anticipate key issues for the betterment of the project and make decisions on major project events, considering their impact on project goals.
- Coordinate financial close-out efforts.
- Develop and maintain the respect and confidence of the project team.
Requirements
- Understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.
- Understanding of preconstruction/project development process and requirements.
- Understanding of contracts (negotiations, language, and requirements).
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and scheduling software.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a related field.
- Experience in cGxP and/or cGMP.
- Experience as an Owner’s Representative in Project Management on biopharmaceutical/life sciences projects.
- Experience managing capital projects.
- Experience with manufacturing processes or process engineering.
- Experience with scheduling software.

$91,200.00 - $132,300.00 Annually
