About the role
DES, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Life Safety Scheduler. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Responsibilities
- Schedule life safety inspections by phone and/or email
- Update and enter information into the electronic database system
- Ensure inspections are scheduled within required timeframes
- Review upcoming inspections and prioritize based on due date and geographical location
- Answer questions regarding life safety inspection procedures
- Complete special projects and provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments or meetings, answering incoming calls, and assisting with mailings
- Receive, organize, maintain electronic data, and prepare reports for management
- Monitor email inboxes and direct incoming correspondence to the correct staff
Requirements
- Principles and practices of administration, management, or program rules, regulations and operating procedures
- Written communication sufficient to create letters, memos and emails
- Proficiency in computer software programs (Web-based applications, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Google Docs)
- Knowledge of Life-Safety Standards: Title 6, Chapter 18, Article 7
- Excellent organization and workload management, including organizing documents and reports
- Strong interpersonal relations and conflict resolution skills
- Analytical skills to assess and prioritize projects
- Strong computer skills including accurate data entry and database software programs
- Ability to work without direct supervision and be detail oriented
- Ability to organize a high volume of incoming documents, prioritize work, and stay on task
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, staff, other departments and the public
- Ability to learn and apply federal and state laws, regulations and policies; adapt new policies, procedures and technologies
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess three (3) years of responsible administrative experience; or a Bachelor's degree in business. Knowledge of internet-based data systems (e.g. Quick Connect and Focus) is preferred.
Pre-employment requirements include successfully passing a background and reference check.
Pay
$38,896 - $41,000
