About the Role
The Collection Specialist is responsible for collection efforts, including making contact with patients, discussing and negotiating payment arrangements, and finding solutions to help patients resolve their outstanding accounts.
- Place outbound phone calls efficiently and in a professional manner
- Notify consumers of delinquent accounts via telephone to solicit payment
- Receive payments via telephone for customer accounts
- Manage and follow up on assigned collection accounts
- Accurately document the information provided and outcome of the call in an efficient, clear, and concise manner
- Identify appropriate situations for transferring/escalating a call to a senior advisor, supervisor, or other member of management
- Conduct all job tasks, duties, phone calls, and interactions with professionalism, respect, a positive attitude, and in accordance with company compliance policies and applicable government regulations
- Consistently support and demonstrate the company mission and values
- Assist with special projects as directed
- Participate in relevant meetings or events
- Perform other necessary tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you:

- Possess strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
- Demonstrate strong computer skills
- Can maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively
- Are able to multi-task
- Can handle disgruntled callers professionally, effectively, and with tact
- Have strong data entry skills
- Possess a level of resourcefulness and independence adequate to efficiently utilize resources to solve problems and complete tasks
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Skills
- Collection experience is helpful, but not required
- ACA certification is a plus, but not required

Pay
$16.00 - $21.00/hour. Individuals in this role are eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan.
Schedule
This is a remote position requiring a 1pm-9pm CST shift due to business needs.
