Life Learning Center and Kentucky Career Center

The Kentucky Career Center, owned by the City of Covington, connects local businesses to workforce talent and job seekers to career opportunities. The facility is leased to state and regional entities, co-located to provide one-stop comprehensive employment services. The Life Learning Center, a private social service organization, delivers a holistic, integrated continuum of learning and care to help at-risk individuals find jobs and sustain living-wage careers. The Catalytic Fund structured a complex transaction that converted two vacant sites and blighted buildings into these critical community facilities. Services provided included negotiating a property swap between private and public sector owners, structuring a master lease and seven subleases, and coordinating architectural, space planning, and construction components.
