Life Insurance Underwriter

About the role

This contract-to-hire underwriter position is based in Menomonee Falls, WI (fully remote). The role involves reviewing life insurance applications, analyzing prescription history and medical records, screening medication data, assessing risk, identifying off-label medication uses, and evaluating health information for add-ons and reinstatements to determine standard or substandard risk classifications.

Responsibilities

• Order exams and review application information to assess total risk
• Review prescription history and medical records
• Screen medication data for life insurance applications
• Analyze high‑risk medications and combinations of high‑risk medications
• Assess adverse health information relating to risk classification
• Identify off‑label medication uses
• Screen life insurance applications for selection of standard and substandard risks
• Evaluate health information received with add‑ons and reinstatements

Requirements

Experienced underwriter with 3‑5 years of life underwriting assessment experience.

Pay

$31.25 – $38.46 per hour (compensation based on qualifications, skills, experience, location, internal equity, and other job‑related factors).
