Work From Home within assigned territory (Bethlehem - Harrisburg PA). Salary range is for this level and may vary based on actual level of role hired for. This range represents a national range and the actual salary will depend on several factors including the scope and complexity of the role, skills, education, training, credentials, location (State) based on ERIE's geographical differences, and experience of an applicant, as well as level of role for which the successful candidate is hired.

Pay

Salary Range: $75,296.00 - $141,678.00. Position may be eligible for an annual bonus payment.

About the role

ERIE Family Life is seeking a Life Sales Manager to drive life insurance and annuity growth across Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. In this highly visible field leadership role, you'll partner with independent ERIE Agents to expand life insurance production, identify cross-sell opportunities, develop agency growth strategies, and provide consultative sales coaching that helps agencies strengthen customer relationships and grow their business.

Responsibilities

  • Assists branch managers and district sales managers in establishing short- and long-range objectives related to life insurance and annuity sales, with emphasis on production, underwriting, and Agent training.
  • Provides training and direction to ERIE Agents regarding the promotion and sale of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Educates Agents on approved marketing and sales tools and techniques, as well as product features and benefits.
  • Assists Agents in reviewing their current books of business to identify cross-selling opportunities for life insurance and annuity sales.
  • Collaborates with Agents to identify prospecting opportunities and accompanies them on sales calls to assist with servicing existing customers and writing new business.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Home Office and the field, clarifying and resolving issues, implementing new programs, and communicating program changes.
  • Represents the company in community relations activities as directed.
  • Develops marketing and prospecting programs to assist Agents in the sale of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Collaborates with Home Office and Branch Office marketing personnel on the design and promotion of incentive campaigns related to life insurance and annuity sales.
  • Assists in the selection and training of newly appointed Agents, life producers, and customer service representatives.
  • Handles Agency relationships and business, as a licensed life insurance Agent, according to company policy.
  • Advises appropriate Home Office personnel of competitive intelligence issues related to Agents and agency management.

Success in This Role

Within the first year, successful Life Sales Managers will:

  • Build trusted relationships with agency partners throughout the territory.
  • Increase life insurance and annuity production.
  • Identify and execute agency growth opportunities.
  • Conduct joint sales calls and field coaching sessions.
  • Help agents develop sustainable life insurance sales strategies.
  • Partner with branch leadership to drive territory performance and business growth.

Territory

This territory-based position supports agencies throughout Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, including Harrisburg, Lancaster, Reading, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and surrounding communities. Candidates should reside within or near the Harrisburg or Lehigh Valley markets and be willing to travel throughout the assigned territory. A company vehicle is provided.

Additional Opportunity

The hiring manager will also consider candidates for the Senior Life Sales Manager (F13) level. The level offered will be based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated success in life insurance sales leadership, agency development, and territory management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, sales, marketing, or related field and five years’ experience in sales, investment and/or annuity products or life insurance-related experience; or
  • Associate’s degree in insurance, sales, marketing, or related field and seven years’ experience in sales, investment and/or annuity products or life insurance-related experience; or
  • High School diploma or GED and nine years’ experience in sales, investment and/or annuity products or life insurance-related experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in sales of life insurance.
  • Must live in the state assigned unless a change is approved by the company.
  • Frequent overnight travel required.
  • Related designations, such as CIC, CFP, ChFC, or CLU, preferred.
