About the role

The Activity Assistant supports community members’ quality of life by executing daily activities in group or individual settings. They assist the Activity Director in designing and executing plans, programs, and events that meet community members’ social, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. The role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with community members, their families, staff, and the broader geographic area served.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and maintain ethical standards
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with Meridian Senior Living values
• Collaborate with peers to generate enthusiasm and execute high-quality programming
• Support planning, scheduling, and execution of activities in accordance with community member care plans
• Create and maintain positive relationships with community members and their families
• Prepare and distribute activity calendars, communication materials, and update activity/orientation boards
• Assist with special events, outings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
• Encourage and motivate participation in activities
• Provide leadership and support for high-quality volunteers
