Life Enrichment Specialist

Pay Range: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Full-time benefited position.

About the Role

Responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Front Porch Vitality Initiative by planning and carrying out comprehensive programming, activities, and events addressing the six dimensions of whole-person wellness in all levels of service/care. The Life Enrichment Specialist may provide departmental leadership in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Implements individualized programs and services for residents at every level of care, including memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living.
• Works closely with all departments associated with activity programs.
• Ensures active collaboration with outside community organizations to enhance programming.
• Coordinates all necessary transportation for activities.
• Manages resident and outside community member volunteers needed for Life Enrichment programming.
• Operates technical equipment necessary for running a comprehensive Life Enrichment program.
• Maintains working knowledge of and complies with OBRA and Title 22 guidelines.
• Uses computer, office, adaptive, and recreation program equipment and supplies.
• Operates within the departmental budget and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Supervises 1-4 Life Enrichment Assistants as well as volunteers.
• For SNF facilities:
  • Regularly assesses residents’ abilities as they relate to activities.
  • Actively participates in developing and implementing resident care plans.
  • Coordinates documentation as required by the facility and governmental agencies.
  • Maintains current resident attendance records and monitors attendance in SNF and/or memory care.
• Follows department safety standards, practices body mechanic techniques, and participates in campus-wide safety programs.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner, wears required PPE/safety equipment, and reports hazards or accidents to supervisor.
• Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services as required by the Executive Director.

Requirements

• Activity Director Certificate.
• CPR certificate.
• First Aid certificate.
• Class C California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1 year of college or technical school (or equivalent qualifications).
• 5 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent qualifications).
