Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the nursing home volunteer program while also assisting with the supervision of nursing home Life Enrichment staff and departmental operations.
- Source volunteers from community groups and digital platforms; conduct interviews, orientations, and training on safety and confidentiality.
- Manage volunteer schedules, track service hours, update policies, and coordinate volunteer recognition events.
- Attend volunteer fairs and networking events to build community partnerships and promote Cedarbrook.
- Collaborate interdisciplinarily to align volunteer placements with resident needs and help coordinate daily life enrichment activities.
- Monitor volunteer program effectiveness, resolve operational issues, and serve as the department lead when departmental leadership is absent.
- Help coordinate daily resident activities and Life Enrichment staff to ensure Quality of Life initiatives are met safely and effectively.
- Assist with event planning and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Volunteer Coordinator experience in healthcare or a public agency or managerial experience in Life Enrichment / Activities with volunteer oversight duties. A relevant degree or certification can substitute for experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with 3+ years of Volunteer Coordination or Life Enrichment Director experience, and any experience is highly preferred to be in long-term care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred coursework or degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field and/or hold a relevant Volunteer or Activities Certification.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with PointClickCare (EMR) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and collaborative skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage recruitment and compliance processes.
- Based in the Allentown campus with periodic travel to the Fountain Hill campus and community events (valid driver's license required).
- Occasional flexible hours for events and infrequent off-hours emergency calls.
Pay
Starting at $24.66 per hour (higher rate based on elevated experience and qualifications).
