We Are Inspired to Serve. The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of meaningful programs and activities for residents in our Residential Living setting. They will also act as a back-up support for other levels of living as needed. This position helps enhance residents' quality of life by providing engaging group and individual experiences that promote socialization, physical wellness, emotional well-being, and purposeful living.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of life enrichment programs.
  • Assists in the set-up and decorating for special events. Special events may include activities centered around a theme such as: Mother’s Day, Christmas, and may require extra time and/or attention.
  • Assists in the set-up of rooms, materials, and furnishings for programs. Also assists in clean-up following the event.
  • Leads programs, such as exercise, educational, arts and crafts, and social events.
  • Records attendance as necessary.
  • Operates and maintains equipment.
  • Maintains bulletin boards, prepares materials, and distributes calendar of events.
  • Observes resident conditions on an on-going basis including mental state and general well-being or changes in residents’ physical condition, and reports to the Life Enrichment Director and other personnel, as appropriate.
  • Accompanies residents on outside trips and activities.
  • Assists in the transportation of residents in case of fire, disaster, or emergency evacuation according to procedure.
  • Engage in one-on-one visits with healthcare residents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
  • Entry-level experience.

Skills

  • Creativity and the ability to teach, to use, or learn to use various crafts and related equipment.
  • Organizational, customer service, communication, and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements

  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate various equipment based on department and weather conditions.
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.

Schedule

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday with typical hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional flexibility may be required to support special events, resident outings, and holiday programming.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $14.72 - $18.91 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
