Life Enrichment Assistant/Driver

About the Role

Assists with the planning and implementation of a quality leisure and social events program designed to help residents maintain their personal potential physically, socially, and mentally. Additionally, drives the Ebenezer bus for resident outings.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with leisure programs and activities:
    • Leads social events and activity programs.
    • Conducts exercise classes for residents.
    • Communicates and coordinates activity and leisure programs with all departments.
    • Assists other departments with special events and family functions.
    • Documents as required.
    • Offers suggestions and ideas to improve the events program to the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents:
    • Encourages resident participation.
    • Reports changes in resident attitude, mood, or physical status to appropriate staff.
    • Promotes resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
    • Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing.
  • Drives Ebenezer van/bus for resident outings:
    • Reviews and completes Vehicle Requirements – Transporting Residents Checklist prior to each resident outing.
    • Maintains a log of transportation services and tasks performed throughout the driving period.
    • Responsible for the safety and welfare of passengers.
    • Practices sound, safe judgment when performing transportation services, including but not limited to fire/disaster procedures and infection control procedures.
    • Recognizes and acts appropriately on safety hazards and incidents.
    • Follows all laws with regard to operating a motor vehicle.
    • Immediately reports any traffic violations or accidents.

Requirements

  • None to 1 year of experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, occasional weekends, and evenings.
  • Current Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Must pass a medical exam certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be insurable under the employer’s Auto Insurance Coverage.
  • Must complete and pass an in-house transportation curriculum course and driving evaluation within 30 days.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to three years of experience.

Pay

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, the organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be offered based on the approved program at the time of the offer.
