Life Enrichment Assistant/ Assisted Living

About the role

The Activity Assistant at Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard is a full-time position with a 1st shift including weekends and holidays as scheduled. This role offers a competitive salary range of $16.50 - $18.00 per hour, along with benefits such as a 401K plan, health, dental, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and implements programs designed to meet the individual needs of residents.
• Supports and assists all necessary programming.
• Learns and implements an innovative daily program for residents.
• Leads and implements one-on-one, small group, and large group activities according to the programming schedule.
• Supports, encourages, and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups.
• Demonstrates knowledge about residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and attention span capability.
• Communicates any changes in the residents' condition or behavior patterns to the Life Enrichment Director.
• Assists in the planning, developing, organizing, and implementing of all residence activities.
• Develops suggestions and ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program.
• Maintains a professional, warm, and caring relationship with residents and families.
• Arranges transportation and escorts for residents to and from outside and community activities.
• Assists with monthly newsletters and/or weekly calendars.
• Attends required ongoing in-service training sessions and orientation.
• Drives residents in the van as needed.
• Arranges doctor visits as needed.
• Performs dual tasks and works independently.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
• Shows an ability to relate to and perform job functions for the elderly in a positive and efficient manner.
• Demonstrates a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, maintains a positive attitude, and works well under pressure.
