About the role

The Lifestyle Enrichment Supervisor plans, coordinates, and delivers resident-centered programs, activities, events, and outings that support engagement, social connection, wellness, purpose, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates a varied calendar of educational, recreational, cultural, social, spiritual, creative, and wellness-focused programs based on resident interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Leads and facilitates activities, events, and outings while encouraging participation and adapting programs to support residents with differing interests, abilities, and levels of engagement.
  • Buils relationships with residents and seeks ongoing feedback to identify interests, improve programming, and create personalized opportunities for connection, purpose, and meaningful engagement.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision to the Activity Coordinator, including assigning and reviewing work, developing schedules, setting expectations, providing training and coaching, and monitoring performance and program quality.
  • Participates with community leadership and Human Resources in recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, performance reviews, recognition, corrective action, and other personnel processes involving assigned team members.
  • Coodinates program schedules, staffing, space, supplies, transportation, communications, and other logistics necessary for the effective delivery of activities and special events.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with volunteers, entertainers, instructors, vendors, community organizations, and other external partners supporting resident programming.
  • Recruits, orients, schedules, and supports volunteers and ensures volunteer activities are appropriately coordinated and supervised.
  • Maintains required participation records, program documentation, vendor information, transportation records, and other department files accurately and on time.
  • Makes recommendations and implements appropriate program improvements.
  • Coordinates with resident services, dining, wellness, transportation, spiritual care, health services, and other departments to support communitywide events and resident experiences.
  • Ensures programs and outings are conducted safely and consistently with applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, organizational policies, and resident rights.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in recreation, gerontology, human services, hospitality, education, therapeutic recreation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three years of experience planning and delivering activities, recreation, events, or lifestyle programming, preferably involving older adults.
  • One year of lead, supervisory, or team-coordination experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead group activities and communicate effectively with residents, family members, team members, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
  • Basic knowledge of supervisory practices, scheduling, performance feedback, expense monitoring, and administrative recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency with standard office applications, electronic calendars, email, and resident or activity documentation systems.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on program and community needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record when operating a community vehicle is an assigned responsibility.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain activity-related training, certification, or registration required by the state or assigned level of care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation, gerontology, human services, hospitality, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.
  • Experience providing lifestyle enrichment programming in senior living, retirement living, assisted living, memory support, or another aging-services environment.
  • Certification through a recognized activity, therapeutic recreation, wellness, or aging-services organization.
  • Experience supervising team members and coordinating volunteers.
  • Experience assisting with department budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and special-event planning.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of aging-related issues and best practices.

Pay

Pay range is $26 to $29 per hour plus best in class benefits.

Schedule

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, some weekends and holidays.
