Step into leadership and make a difference! We're seeking a dedicated Lieutenant to lead with integrity, inspire teams, and uphold excellence at the East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise assigned sergeants and correctional officers.
• Maintain custody and care of offenders, ensuring order and discipline.
• Conduct daily shift briefings and issue chemical agents as needed.
• Maintain daily shift roster, address staffing shortages, and post vacancies.
• Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel, and evaluate assigned employees and offenders.
• Schedule employees’ and offenders’ work and off‑duty time.
• Assist in formulating security and work procedures.
• Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security.
• Provide custody and security of offenders, including observation during work duty.
• Perform specific security functions such as “pat” and “strip” searches.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent (GED).
• Three (3) years full‑time, wage‑earning correctional custody or law‑enforcement experience, including at least one (1) year supervising employees.
• Operational Review Sergeant or Security Threat Group Sergeant experience may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Thirty (30) semester hours with a minimum of six (6) semester hours in Criminal Justice may substitute for one (1) year of non‑supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (unless waived by management).

Pay

$25 per hour

Schedule

Full‑time, 12‑hour shift rotating: 6 am–6:30 pm or 6 pm–6:30 am.
