Licensing Engineer Energy

We are seeking a Licensing Engineer Energy for a remote position based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering and nuclear regulatory knowledge and experience to develop power plant systems and programs in accordance with US licensing requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of 10 CFR, along with associated regulatory and industry guidance.
• Prepare licensing documentation, such as topical and technical reports, Safety Analysis Reports, and applications for certifications, permits, and licenses as part of the ARUSN Licensing group.
• Work closely with all engineering disciplines.
• Support development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components in collaboration with other engineering functional areas.
• Prepare, review, maintain, and defend licensing documentation supporting a variety of nuclear designs.
• Prepare and defend position papers for areas where the existing regulatory framework does not apply or where new or revised regulatory requirements or guidance are needed.
• Prepare and deliver licensing presentations to internal and external organizations.
• Support project management for activities including development of licensing submissions.
• Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization.
• Apply knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure design compliance with international regulatory criteria and industry best practices.
• Work to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work and initiate corrective measures to overcome delays.
• Receive instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior licensing engineers and complete duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs.
• Experience in the nuclear industry preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and licensing guides.
• Excellent technical writing, interpersonal, and effective communication skills.
• Experience in drafting and reviewing licensing applications and submittals.
• Experience working with designers and engineers to develop a Safety Analysis Report (SAR).
• Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Pay

Expected compensation range is between $34 - $57 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
