Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/(LPN) - Inpatient

About the role

Night Shift (7pm‑7am), PRN position at a 16‑bed Small‑Format Hospital (8 ER, 8 Inpatient). Emerus partners with leading health systems to provide individualized care in neighborhood hospitals, fostering a diverse, equitable work environment focused on teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients with predictable health care needs as directed by the RN and the patient’s plan of care, per state nurse practice act and organizational policies.
• Perform assigned responsibilities to promote quality and safe patient care and excellent customer service.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient care reflecting the plan of care.
• Perform focused patient assessments in accordance with state nurse practice act and organizational policies.
• Administer medications per organization’s policies.
• Report data to assist in problem identification, goal formulation, and patient‑centered plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to plan, deliver, and coordinate patient‑centered care.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
• Attend staff meetings or other company‑sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. and graduation from an approved licensed practical nurse/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) program.
• Experience: Two years of relevant experience as an LVN/LPN in an acute care setting.
• Certification/License: Current LVN/LPN license in the state of practice; current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Additional training: Pedagogy IV Certification Course must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Language: Fluency in English (written and oral).
• Pennsylvania LVN requirements: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years or obtained prior to start date.
