About the job
The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, as well as assist the veterinarian other medical staff, and upkeep of facility and equipment. You will be expected to take room appointments, assist in surgery, and handle delicate equipment. We have two phacoemulsification machines (Phacos) and are the only location in Nevada (and one of a few worldwide) that offers retina reattachment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Ophthalmologic exams
- Performing specialized diagnostic procedures
- Obtaining Intraocular pressures
- Making Doppler measurements for blood pressure
- Measuring blood pressure using Doppler
- Documenting history and updates in medical records
- Providing quality, compassionate care for your patients
- Aiding in anesthetic and sedated procedures
- Maintaining accurate treatment sheets
- Taking radiographs and obtaining and preparing various blood samples for diagnostic testing
- Providing client education on a wide range of at-home care
Requirements
- Experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commit to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!

Schedule
Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with the ability to work occasionally on a Saturday.
Pay
$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr, depending on experience
