About the job

The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, as well as assist the veterinarian other medical staff, and upkeep of facility and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
  • Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
  • Maintain and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity based on position
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintains client and patient confidentiality
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
  • Meet or exceed LVVSC expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Act as an ambassador of LVVSC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
  • Other duties vary based on role and department

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in a general practice, preference will be given to those with experience within veterinary specialty hospital setting
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commit to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high-level care to our patients and clients
  • A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently

  • Proficiency in veterinary medical procedures and protocols

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Schedule

Service is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30am - 5:30pm. Your shift will be comprised of four 10-hour shifts.

$25.00 - $30.00 / hour
