Licensed Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Licensed Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department in Town Center, VA!

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induces, monitors and recovers anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Add discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• VTS credentialing preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia license as a Veterinary Technician.
• Experience in internal medicine preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Advanced medical math skills.
• Proven experience with anesthesia induction and recovery.
• Knowledge of ultrasound and radiology techniques.
• Excellent equipment maintenance skills.
• Effective client education and communication skills.

Pay

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour. Pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.
