Licensed Veterinary Technician - ER

About the role

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work nights and weekends and holidays. As a Veterinary Technician, you will triage and obtain patient history, identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR, place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines, monitor and care for ventilator cases, work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients, and have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines
• Maintain and care for ventilator cases
• Collaborate with other technicians and assistants in providing advanced medicine
• Mentor and train other co-workers

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
• Experience in a veterinary emergency setting preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in Washington State
• Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and clinical procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

$26.75 - $51.32 per hour, dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
