About the role

The Licensed Transportation Engineer (PE) on our Roadway team plays a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects of varying size and complexity. You will contribute technical expertise while also supporting project management activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the planning and design of roadway projects, including urban and rural highways, interchanges, and municipal roadways.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with client and regulatory standards (e.g., DOT guidelines).
  • Perform and oversee design calculations, including horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage considerations, and roadway geometrics.
  • Develop cost estimates and assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (traffic, bridge, drainage, survey, and environmental) to deliver cohesive project solutions.
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle, including participation in meetings and presentations.
  • Support or lead project management efforts, including tracking progress, managing deliverables, and ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations to support design development and construction activities.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis in transportation preferred.
  • You have a minimum of 4+ years of related engineering experience.
  • You have experience with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • You are registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Arkansas, or you can obtain one within six months.
  • You have knowledge of municipal and DOT standards and procedures.
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You can contribute and work well on a team.
