Licensed Therapist (LSW, LCSW, LAC, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate mental health, addiction severity, trauma history, etc.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with clear goals based on client needs; reassess and modify plans throughout the stay.
• Provide one-on-one therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) tailored to each client, exploring root causes of addiction and developing healthier coping strategies.
• Facilitate daily or weekly group sessions on topics such as relapse prevention, emotional regulation, communication skills, and grief and loss; encourage peer support and group accountability.
• Conduct family therapy sessions to address relational dynamics and educate loved ones; help families create supportive environments post-discharge.
• Respond to emotional, psychological, or behavioral crises (e.g., suicidal ideation, emotional breakdowns) using de-escalation techniques and coordinate with medical staff when needed.
• Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, addiction counselors, and support staff; attend regular team meetings to discuss client progress.
• Maintain detailed clinical records, progress notes, and incident reports; ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and facility standards (e.g., HIPAA).
• Help clients prepare for life after rehab by developing aftercare plans; provide referrals to outpatient programs, sober living, 12-step groups, or mental health services.
