Responsibilities

  • Pychosocial assessment of new patients; developing an update or detailed reassessment of the patient
  • Maintains contact with family and significant others in the patient’s life when appropriate and provides patient and family education, support, and advocacy
  • Provides coordination and acts as liaison with community based social and mental health agencies
  • Facilitates discharge planning and conducts post discharge follow-up to assure that linkage of the patient with community resources has occurred reducing re-hospitalization
  • Facilitate groups with patients daily

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related human services field. Unrestricted Arkansas licensure required. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LAC (preferred). Will consider PLMSW or PLPC with stipulations.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred. Two years’ experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse preferred (not required if holding an appropriate Master’s degree). Experience with group work modalities and techniques. Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills. Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations.
  • Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 30 days of employment.

Schedule

Seeking FT, Monday-Friday, flexible with some weekend availability
