Licensed Surveyor

About the Role

Timmons Group is seeking a Licensed Surveyor to join our Survey group in our Charlotte, NC office. The Licensed Surveyor is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and client accounts, including marketing, client development, technical quality, profitability, scheduling, and staff coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage and penetrate assigned client accounts, ensuring superior client relationships and cross-selling Timmons Group services.
• Oversee marketing, client development, proposal preparation, scope negotiation, fee billing, and client follow-up.
• Manage multiple mid-sized projects, small projects, or a single large project simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget.
• Perform design-related surveying projects using office software, modeling, and CADD technology, including boundary, topographical, construction, control networking, and high-definition surveys.
• Perform calculations using surveying formulas and software to solve problems.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the Division Manager, clients, staff, and internal design teams.
• Supervise the technical work of field crews and ensure project accounting compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Engineering, or a scientific field, or equivalent work experience.
• Licensed Surveyor (L.S.) in one or more states where Timmons Group operates.
• 5 to 10 years of surveying experience.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D software, machine control model creation, and GPS/RTK technology.
• Experience in client development and supervising technical teams.
• Proficiency in project accounting and managing multiple project budgets and schedules.
• Familiarity with technical and office support software required for the role.
